I have to admit that when I heard that PJ and Charlene got engaged to each other, I was scheming of ways to photograph their wedding or engagement (the coffee was not my fault, I promise). I've seen their relationship grow and become about something bigger than themselves. They might seem like they were made perfect for each other, but I think their relationship goes beyond their looks and seemingly obvious love for each other.
PJ is an amazingly talented artist that is using his talents to tell the stories that we often forget. Charlene is now starting a new enterprise with a good friend of hers where they are working to help others gain the skills to make life-altering changes. They're engaging people in different ways, yet are closely following the steps of their maker.
Now, that I got that out of the way. I must say that it was a privilege to take their photos during a sunrise in May. We arrived early to Davis Island and quickly lighted up our fireworks...you know to set the mood. Unfortunately, the awesome firework show never came alive; so we thought. After putting the "defective" rocket away, we went one with our shoot only to hear the sound of the fireworks going off while a runner walked by them. Needless to say, a cop stopped by to quickly checked on the mysterious sound. Good thing he just put it out and drove away :)
It's definitely a story their grandchildren will hear for sure. Congratulations in your upcoming wedding!
